JOEL KERR

Owner Joel Kerr opened DB Plus in 1987 based on his belief that professional audio services shouldn't cost the farm. As a trumpet player in his youth, Joel ventured into the music world more than 38 years ago at Atlantic Recording Studios. As an engineer he's worked with legendary producers Nesuhi and Ahmet Ertegun, Jerry Wexler, Tom Dowd and Arif Mardin, and with artists including Carly Simon, Aretha Franklin, Bette Midler, Hall & Oates, Keith Jarrett, Delbert & Glen, Jan Akkerman,   The Blues Brothers and Maxi Priest.  joel@dbplus.com


GENE PAUL

Mastering / Mixing Engineer Gene Paul has been with DB Plus since its inception. Gene, son of legendary guitarist and inventor Les Paul, spent his youth developing his engineering skills in the family studio. His career took off after joining Atlantic Recording Studios where he quickly became a world renowned session, mixing engineer and producer. He continues to turn out sonically superb recordings, garnering one Grammy for Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly ”and fifteen Grammy nominations in the past few years. His credits include Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Paul Simon, Charles Mingus, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Carole King, Bette Midler, Luther Vandross, The Neville Brothers, Dave Brubeck, Max Roach, Buddy Rich, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Billy Taylor, Hall & Oates, Willie Nelson, Lou Rawls, Steel Pulse, En Vogue, Average White Band, Hugh Masekela, Capelton, Bono, Judy Garland, John Coltrane, Shirley Horn, Kurt Elling, Janis Siegel, Richie Havens, Jane Monheit, Norah Jones, and producers Ahmet Ertegun, Nesuhi Ertegun, Jerry Wexler, Tom Dowd, Arif Mardin, Quincy Jones, Bob Karcy, Maria Schneider and “Keep a light in the window ” Joel Dorn.  gene@dbplus.com


JAMIE POLASKI

Jamie is the newest edition to the DB Plus staff. Jamie began interning at DB Plus during the start of his Senior year at NYU and joined us full time after his graduation from the Music Technology Program. Most recently, he has worked with producer Joel Dorn assisting in mixing and mastering his upcoming release of The Frank and Joe Show’s debut album “33 1/3”. Additional mixing credits include Janis Segal, Jane Monheit and Richie Havens. Mastering Credits include Norah Jones “Feels Like Home” with Producer of the Year Arif Mardin. His Editing Credits Include Rahsaan Roland Kirk “Compliments of The Mysterious Phantom, Dr. John “Live At The Lonestar Café,” Albert King “Live 69,” Cassidy “Get No Better,” and Kurt Elling's Grammy nominated CD album “Man In The Air”.   jamie@dbplus.com


JENNIFER MUNSON

As a mastering engineer/engineer, Jennifer Munson has worked with the best in the business. An Indiana native, she had a three-year stint in New York at Sony Classical’s in-house studio, where she re-mastered much of the Columbia music library (Isaac Stern, Bruno Walter, Pierre Boulez).  In 1995 Bob Ludwig lured her to Portland, Maine, to work at his fabled Gateway Mastering, where she worked directly with legends such as Lou Reed, Bruce Springsteen, and Tori Amos, and Beck. She also worked on the Nonesuch Explorer Series there, and re-mastered the Kinks, Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, Prince and Madonna. Back in New York since 2000, Jennifer splits herself thinly between DB Plus mastering studio, where she has worked with Psychic Ills, Angie Stone, Christmas Decorations, Spooky Ghost, Buster Rhymes, Deerhunter, clarinet/mandolin virtuoso, Andy Statman, and most everything between. She also runs the board for ABC television’s World News Tonight and National Public Radio’s On the Media. In her spare time she is an avid gardener. jennifer@dbplus.com
